I Challenge YOU to Better Health!

I have something exciting for you! I am offering a 21 day group to NEW Challengers only! What does this mean? Well, it means that you have not previously participated in any of my 30 day groups and also do not currently own a Beachbody program. This is for people who are serious about losing 10-50 pounds and about following a set plan.  I will be putting a lot of time and energy into helping those who are chosen to meet their goals one-on-one and as a group, so I want to be sure those who are chosen are dead serious about meeting their goals and working hard to meet them.

What to Expect:

This is going to be a 21 day group that begins June 29 and runs through July 19. It will be held in a CLOSED group setting on Facebook, and I will also be working with each person one on one. As I said before-there will only be TEN chosen to participate! You will workout to a fitness program that is proven to work, replace one meal per day with a daily dose of dense super food meal and for the rest of the day follow a specific meal plan that is healthy and realistic! The results below are from others who have done the program, and got amazing results!

Screen-Shot-2014-01-07-at-11.57.12-AM Screen-Shot-2014-01-07-at-11.56.23-AM 11407178_427985770707716_3649803586988855712_n21-Day-Fix-Samantha

Those who are chosen will be asked to  post each day about:

1. Food eaten throughout the day

2. Workout done (yes or no) &

3. Super food meal eaten (yes or no)

Each participant will also be expected to encourage others in the group the way they would like to be encouraged and remain accountable with me through either email or Facebook Messenger.

That’s it! So simple right?! What would you say if I said you could lose up to 15 pounds in your first 21 days?? Crazy right? But with the right nutrition, exercise, and support, it is so doable! And it only takes 30 minutes a day! So who’s in??

What’s Up, Buttercup??

Okay, so in the spirit of keeping this super short, This post is going to be relatively picture free….So I apologize in advance!!

What’s up, Buttercup? Oh, nothing more than the usual…Blossom Vox Box! I was extremely impressed with this VoxBox. In fact, it is my favorite of all boxes I have gotten thus far! In it came, Pasta Zero pasta, Australian Gold SPF 30, Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs, Bear Naked Granola in Coconut Almond Curry and Caramel Apple, Hair Food Root Cleansing Shampoo, NYC Color CityProof 24 Eye Shadow in Ombre, and Beanitos original and Chipotle BBQ. Each and every product had such great qualities and there was little to complain about, if anything at all! I will start with the Pasta Zero Pasta. This pasta cooked quickly and tasted great, even the hubby approved! With only 15 Calories, 4g Carbs, 3g of Fiber, and 1g Protein, this pasta is not only delicious, but it is a way better option than it’s wheat pasta alternative. It’s what I like to call Guilt Free Pasta. And it really is! Nasoya hit it out of the ballpark with this one! Then there’s the Australian Gold SPF 30. I really don’t have a ton to say about it other than it doesn’t leave my hands or skin feeling greasy, is water proof, and protects me amply from the sun and it’s harmful rays while leaving my skin moisturized so it doesn’t dry out like some suns screens can. I always recommend wearing sunscreen when going out, so why not give Australian Gold a try?? Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs has been a lifesaver for me. I go outside a lot now that it’s warm outside, but the sun doesn’t seem to permeate the skin or leave a healthy glow or tan or ANYTHING, so to match my legs to my arms, I use Airbrush legs! It is great! I just apply it (then wash my hands off lol) and go. It gives my legs a healthy, airbrush glow without streaks or lines and it doesn’t rub off on clothing or furniture. It is the perfect way to get those perfectly tanned legs you’ve always wanted all summer long…. I absolutely love Bear Naked Granola, so when I saw the Caramel Apple and Coconut Almond Curry single serve packages in my Blossom Voxbox, I was excited! My favorite of the two was the Caramel apple, thought the Almond curry was also good, but the caramel apple seemed to be perfect for my sweet tooth cravings! This granola makes a great topping for oatmeal or yogurt and tastes amazing in vanilla or coffee flavored ice cream too (though I try to avoid those most of the time!) The Hair Food Root Cleansing Shampoo does a great job of getting the grezse and oils out of my hair all the way to the root. At first it was great, but I think this is a product best used sparingly and only on occasion. I love that it leaves my hair feeling refreshed and free of chemicals and old shampoo and conditioner residue, but it also seems to cleanse my hair and scalp of the healthy oils and that in turn makes my head itch and my hair get greasy faster because my skin is trying to compensate for the lack of healthy oil. I think if used with a great conditioner or with some argon oil, that issue could easily be remedied, however. I have a hard time making the time to put makeup on. It takes so much time, the worst part for me is the eye shadow only because I always want it to be so perfect.  Since trying the NYC CityProof 24hr eye shadow, however, I have been able to come up with a simple 5 minute routine that really works and looks great so even when I’m running out the door I can do it. The shadow goes on super easy, I just color the lower half of the lid up to the crease then blend it over the whole lid to complete the look. (optionally add liner as well) Then I just add some mascara, blush and a light coat of powder, lip gloss and I’m out the door in a flash. This eye shadow is a great color (ombre) and would work on almost any skin tone or eye color. A definite must try! The last product I’m going to review quickly is the Beanitos original and Chipotle BBQ. Admittedly, the original were not my favorite, but I had them plain. I think they tasted a lot like tortilla chips so maybe with some hummus or salsa they would have been complete! The Chipotle BBQ flavor is to die for! (not literally) It tastes like the less healthy baked bbq chip version, but without all the preservatives, gluten, soy, etc. PLUS if you go through the ingredients, you can pronounce each one and most are found right in the local grocery store. What’s not to love?? These are great because they give me the chip crunch satisfaction without clogging my arteries or intestines with junk. 😉 So-that is all that came in the Blossom VoxBox, what I
thought and my first impressions. I hope you found this a little helpful and if you try any of the products, let me know what you think!! I love hearing from you!

https://fitfabulouslife2.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/20150527_202253.jpg?w=169Live Bear Naked!

Okay, so now that I’ve gotten you attention…I’m not saying go nude. No, in fact-keep your clothes on…PLEASE 😉 I’m talking about snacks!! There are so many snack options out there-health food bars, shakes, crackers, fruit snacks, cookies, chips, and all sorts of “healthy snacks” that, frankly, are pretty much as bad as the unhealthy things they tell us to avoid. Full of sugar, enriched flowers, gluten, soy, preservatives…May as well eat the junk, am I right??

I must admit, I don’t often get excited about a snack. Very few fill me up and taste good plus have good nutrition facts. Let’s face it, we live in a world where snacks are a dime a dozen, and our food companies are allowed to make just about any claim they want to anymore. Suuuure, that cookie is a great snack, healthy too. Less than 100 calories!! Really?? The cold hard facts are, calories aren’t the only thing we have to worry about in our snacks! We have to consider artificial flavorings, sugar, carbs, fat, preservatives, some of us soy, gluten, dairy…There is so much to consider!

Bear Naked Granola, however, lacks the white sugars, artificial flavorings, and, from what I can read on their package, the health facts are spot on for what we should really be looking for in a snack.  You can literally find every listed ingredient in the local grocery store, the single pouches/individual serving is between 100-150 calories, 45 of which are fat, but there is a difference between bad fats and good fats. These would be considered good fats because they are coming from the nuts in the package. (depending on the kind you buy-not all have that much fat in them. And we’ll get to the good fat vs bad fat at another time)

While it does contain more sugar than I would usually consume in a snack, it is to be noted that it is complex sugars such as maple syrup or honey, so they will digest slower keeping your blood sugar level, and you won’t be craving more right away like other sugary snacks because of how these particular sugars digest.

I had the opportunity recently to try the Caramel Apple flavor and the Coconut Almond Curry and I have fallen in love with them! My absolute favorite is the Caramel Apple flavor. It is lightly salted to give it that saltiness while being sweet with the apple and caramel flavors in there.  The bits of apple were soft and sweet and the combination of granola and nuts was to die for. I could eat it all day!

20150527_203253My absolute favorite way to have it is in my plain Greek Yogurt, it adds a sweet flavor that tones down the strong flavor Greek yogurt seems to sometimes have. It is also great in Oatmeal and as a snack alone or with hard boiled eggs to get in some protein, healthy carbs, and good fats for the day.

I definitely say, if you are looking for a great snack, go Bear Naked. You won’t regret it! This granola is Amazing! Plus, you can’t beat having a healthy snack-especially if you are working to eat healthy, get fit, lose some weight, or kick yourself in gear!

Insanity-The First Six Weeks

Insanity. The name says it all, doesn’t it? At the core, Insanity truly is “trying the same thing over and over and expecting to get different results…” In this case, Insanity is a GREAT thing! I it is the repetition of certain exercises every so many days, repetition of getting active and eating well, and the repetition of sweating so uncontrollably you never knew you could sweat so much!  It is hard, yet simple at the same time. You know what you are doing and when, all you have to do is push play!

I started my journey with Insanity now almost seven weeks ago. I know, I know….I am late posting. Life has happened and I am only on week 6 when I should be on 7 and nearing the end of this 60 day journey. The whole process has been a process, in a process, in a process. What do I mean when I say that? Well, let me tell you!

I started this journey off at 225 pounds. I was at my heaviest weight, and my lowest point in life. I had just lost two people in my life I loved dearly and found out that another two were suffering from different forms of cancer and with one there is nothing to be done and the other would be again be going through the Chemo process, one that is ugly, painful, and scarey in and of itself.  I needed to do something, I wanted to get healthy and be fit so I could live a long and healthy life with my family and those around me. I have always wanted to help others-but how could I effectively do that if I wasn’t willing to help myself?

109282440_insanity_313040cmainSo I pulled out my Insanity dvd’s and I got moving. I was not psyched about doing it at first. It hurt, made me sweaty (and I hate that feeling), and forced me out of my comfort zone. But I kept on. I started sharing what I was doing and how I was eating after joining an awesome clean eats group held by my coach. People started to watch and I began to listen. I started eating correctly and getting my workouts in daily and if I missed, I never missed two days in a row.  After my second week doing Insanity, I became a coach. It has been a huge change for my life and I love it! I am becoming the person I always wanted to be, and I am not just talking about weight loss, because my life as an obese woman has only been a 5 year journey, not life long.

So, I’m 7 weeks in my journey, 6 weeks into Insanity, and I’m sure you’re wondering about what I’ve accomplished so far. The first thing I have accomplished is we now buy our groceries ahead of time and I prep every Sunday for the whole week. This keeps me from having an excuse to skip meals or eat food that is not going to help me toward my goal. The second thing is I now exercise regularly. I had to take a week or so off for my feet because I have a lot of issues in my feet-but the desire was there each day to get up and push play, even though I couldn’t.

The third thing is I have lost about four inches all over total so far. That is with the occasional cheat meal, missed workouts, and a few poor decisions. The last thing I have accomplishes is I am now 196 opposed to 225. That is HUGE! It is such progress! I can’t believe I’ve come so far in just a few weeks time! I have had set backs-such as last week I was in the 180s and due to poor choices I went back up some, but I know what I did and can fix it to make my journey forward even better because I know how to handle some sticky (bun) situations now.

In just four weeks I went from a size 20 to a size 16 and while I was slowed down by some life happenings, I continue to shrink in size and grow in strength. Below you’ll see my six week progress-I am now a size 12-14 and have fit in my first size large t-shirt in over 4 years! I couldn’t be happier! I do have feet issues that require future surgery, but I’m not letting that stop me. I have a goal and I’m going to meet it! I am strong, I am able, and I am determined. I am only 60 pounds from my goal and I started 90 from it. I am closer than ever to being fit and healthy than I have ever been. I am six weeks in and have 3 left to go-I am ready and I can’t wait to see what my results are in the next three weeks and share it with you!

What is Your Why?

What is your Why? You hear people ask that all the time. I mean-what Does that even mean? My why. Isn’t simple? I am doing what I am because I want to-right? Again, this turns into a saga of me being wrong. So, So, wrong.

For years I’ve been asked to give my why for different things I did. Why do you want to stay home with your kids? Why are you choosing to home school. Why did you marry that man? Why do you want to lose weight? Why, Why, Why, Why, WHY?? I constantly was being asked why questions and honestly. I didn’t know! I just stared blankly at each person who asked and thought-well, isn’t me wanting it enough of a why? Why do I need a why? C’mon. That is dumb. It’s obvious why. I want to nurture my kids, I want to lose weight, I want to be with this person, so on and so on. But, I was left to wonder later-was it really that simple, or was I just being so simple to not think about it? Was there something about this “Why” thing. Did it really motivate the way people said it would if I could manage to figure it out?

I decided to find out for myself. It couldn’t be so hard after all. I searched and searched for months and I came up with-well-nothing. I mean, I said my kids, my husband, my health, but nothing really clicked with me yet or stuck. Those things are and were important to me, but I needed a wake up call. Something to jolt me into action.

In August of 2014 I decided to volunteer for the position of Mission and Advocacy Lead for our Local Relay for Life. Things began to click, I mean, my job was to tell people all about what the ACS does for people/patients and also about how to prevent Cancer and how to best care for ones self. I wasn’t quite in the place to do something about it, but the foundation was being laid. Just before Thanksgiving we lost my husbands grandfather. He was such a dear man, and though he died of age and went peacefully, it still hit hard. I decided at that point I wanted to live a long life he did and make the most of every moment-but I needed a change.

I wish I could say that it was that moment that I decided to pull out my workout dvds and get moving and eating right, but it wasn’t. We were in the midst of closing on our new home at this time and it was a long, dragged out time while we waited for the sellers, bankruptcy courts, and more decide that we could finally close on our home. This time was spent filling out paperwork and packing while we waited and it was BUSY! While I didn’t physically change anything in the back of my mind was the idea of eating better-but I didn’t know how. So instead, I ate less. I did successfully lose about 15 pounds in this time, and I am still proud of the loss, but it was not from a healthy lifestyle, but instead fatigue, stress, and a lack of food. It’s not that we didn’t have the food, it was that I wasn’t eating the food. I just told myself there was no time and went without.

no-foodPiYo DEFINE YOURSELFBy the time we closed on our house we were closing in on Christmas and it was less than a full week away. We rented a truck and I loaded it up and unloaded it and repeated that a few times. Now, you may think I had help, and boy do I wish I did, but my husband works at night and sleeps during day so he wasn’t available. When we weren’t moving boxes or packing up the truck, we had to stay at our old place to make sure our son still made it to school without driving an hour both directions to get him there, so there was no time to unpack a thing we brought into the house.

By the time we ended that week and started the next, I was driving an hour both ways to drive our son to school then worked on getting unpacked when we could-but we were already at Christmas Eve and we had a tree up and had just managed to secure some furniture just in time. (if you wonder where I am going with this, hang tight, it’s coming) Christmas was spent sick and just a short day later something happened that would entirely shake my world.

It didn’t take long to find out the news my grandmother had suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital and not responding. I felt like world had just stopped moving. I had planned to see her for Christmas and she waited for me-looked for me- and I wasn’t there. (we were sick, we couldn’t go, but I have to admit I still try to rationalize the fact I let her down…) She understood, I’m sure. She was the most loving woman in the world. She loved God most of all, she loved my Grandfather like no woman has ever loved a man, and she loved her family stronger than anyone I’ve ever met. She was a light to everyone who ever met her-and they knew she was the product of a loving God.

I was finally able to make it down December 29 once we were all better and it was safe to do so-and it wasn’t good. She was struggling and no one wanted to see her suffer.  It was later that day when they took her off the ventilator and just a few short moments later she went peacefully to meet the Lord. Wracked with pain, grief, and guilt I left that day with my husband, children, and father and it felt like I was all alone. I so wanted to go back in time and hold her hand just one more time and shoot the wind about the kids and church.  (heck-I still wish I could do that….)

The next week was a whirlwind of family coming to town and planning. The New Year came and went and while it was a new start, I felt like it was just another day. What did I have that I could do that would make the start of a year happy when in the back of our minds we were all thinking about Grandma and how wonderful she was and how blessed we were to know her in our lifetimes. I spent a lot of time thinking about the woman she was and the person I was and it really got me going deep within.

10686607_10204270226093334_949065298941395872_nHer memorial service came and went and it was a day of stories, music, love… There was no doubt in the minds of anyone there that she was loved or that she was loving. Every story told pointed back to her love of God and family. Her love of life and her way of touching every life she came in contact with. I wanted (and want) that. I chose that day that I wanted to be more like her. Full of Christ love and a blessing to others around me.

I began to get back in God’s word and feeding my soul and one thing led to another and I began to feel I needed to do something for my health, because there is no way I could live a long, meaningful life if I continued down the road I was taking at that time. I was miserable. But not for long. It was at that moment my “why” became clear. I was made with purpose and it was to help others and to serve. The most important and best thing I could do to do that was to take care of myself and to treasure the temple of God. So-I pulled out my Insanity Dvds and got at it. I didn’t share at first. I was embarrassed. I was the biggest I’ve ever been, and it was humiliating. I hated going out because of it.

2014-12-19-Scale_091312_vr_tif_I was a few weeks in when I again quit-but within a day a family member added me to her fitness group on Facebook. That was enough for me to get in it again. I started to do it, then I started taking pictures and really sharing what I was doing. I got involved in a 5 Day Clean Eating Group and I really started to get the hang of eating well and working out. I added in a gallon or more of water a day and the weight started to really come off. In a month I lost 15 pounds and 3 inches off my waist. I have since gone on a few weeks but ended up down due to a foot issue (non related) and am just getting back in. I have wanted to give in a few times-but that WHY that PURPOSE to get fit and better my life so I can better the lives of others has pushed me on. I am so excited to get back into it tonight and keep moving.

The whole point of this whole post is this. You can have a million REASONS to do something, but if you don’t have a WHY (or a couple even-but one MAIN why) you won’t have a real purpose in what you are doing. You won’t have a cement reason to keep moving to keep pushing toward your goal. There is no reason bigger than your WHY.  My deep down why is I want to live a long, healthy, meaningful life and help others do the same. I want to be like my Grandmother. I want to beat the odds of getting a life altering disease like Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease. I want to live a PURPOSEFUL life.  Dig deep and find your why. Why do you want to get fit and healthy? Why do you want to move up in your job/find a new job/start your own business? Why do you keep going even when you want to give up? That tiny three letter word has HUGE implications and can be the difference between giving up what it is you are doing or pressing toward the prize. I urge you-FIND YOUR WHY!

What reason do you have to do things in life? What is your WHY?  Share in the comments below and tell me what you think. I always love hearing from you!

To Buzz or Not to Buzz

Cancer Awareness is something that is very important to me. So many that I know and love have fought cancer. Some wont he fight, others were lost. Cancer Awareness and Relay for Life really drive a lot of what I do anymore. I hate the words “You’ve got Cancer” or to hear a friend say, well, I had a lump/spot and the doctors say I have cancer. It kills me inside! EVERY SINGLE TIME.

This year I made it my goal to do anything and everything I could to support the fight against cancer, raise funds for the American Cancer Society for prevention education, cancer awareness, important cancer research (for the cure), and for the myriad of services offered to cancer patients, caregivers, and many others. I am planning a 5k walk/run to be held on March 21, 2015, joined the Relay for Life of Cortland County ELT, and have made it my goal to not only tell others how they can save lives, including their own by not only participating in their local Relay for Life event, but also through prevention measures such as early screening (one should be screened for colon cancer at the age of 50!), eating clean and getting active, and limiting or removing the use of alcohol and tobacco from your routine.

I have been growing my hair out to donate for Wigs for Kids and I’ve now found that if I raise some money for Relay for life for a donation I can shave my head or get my hair cut. I would really LOVE to get my head shaved-not because I want to be bald-but because I want to show my support to those around me fighting this TERRIBLE disease. I want to raise awareness in my community. I want to show the world that there is strength in the suffering of this disease. Only one little set back. My hubby does NOT want me to shave my hair off. He believes I should just get it cut instead of shaving it. So, I said, “why don’t we put it in a poll?” So, of course, he chuckled at me because the poll isn’t going to change how we feel, but it may change how I approach it! 😉

So weigh in! Do you think I should Shave my locks to donate to Wigs for kids, or should I just get a hair cut? Let me know in the Poll below! 🙂

Do you think I should buzz my Hair for Wigs for Kids or keep my locks?
Yes-Go bald for Wigs for Kids!
No-Keep your locks!

What is Shakeology Actually Worth?

Shakeology is Expensive at First Glance. TRUE.

Shakeology is Expensive.  False

Allow me to explain. I once with you. I saw the price tag on Shakeology and I said-“Heck no! I would never spend THAT much on a protein drink…They want how much for something I can get in a store for like $20??”  It isn’t that I didn’t think it could keep me full or diminish cravings the way it said, but I had already tried so many protein drinks and quote and quote meal replacement drinks and bars, I found it hard to believe it could possibly be worth all they wanted for it. I didn’t know it then-but I was uninformed, closed minded, and entirely wrong!!

I used to be a review blogger. I tested all sorts of weight loss supplements, protein drinks, meal replacement drinks…And some worked-most did not. I can’t remember even one drink or replacement I ever tried that did everything it claimed it would, and sometimes anything at all. It didn’t matter how many calories it had, or how few carbs or what things it didn’t have (soy for one). No matter how wonderful the health facts looked-it really made no difference. Not one kept me full for longer than an hour and none kept me from wanting that bag of chips or from craving cookies and milk. Yet, I kept trying.

After a year and a half of trying just about everything on the market, I decided perhaps it was time to consider Shakeology. But that Price Tag-I couldn’t get my brain around it. But instead of write it off, I did my research. I found that it had ingredients NO OTHER meal replacement drink had. (yes-meal replacement!) I discovered what I had written off as a protein shake, wasn’t even classified as one-it was a meal replacement. There were ingredients in it that I had taken as supplements and absolutely KNEW worked because I had taken them and had results. They weren’t just for weight loss, but also craving/hunger suppression, vitamins and minerals, and there are even ingredients that help with inflammation and digestion!

Despite my research, I was still not ready to try it. I was not about to drop this kind of money on a product that

A. may not work  or

B. only last an hour or two and I’d be eating another meal anyways…Besides! Who knew if it even tasted good? What if I absolutely hated it?

So, I waited. I started working out regularly-I began to do Insanity. And I was added to a free health and fitness motivational group run by my cousin. That’s when things really began to change for me.

About a week after I started Insanity and joined the group, my cousin began to share about a clean eating group she was going to be a part of and offered to add any of us in the group. So-what the hey. I asked her if I could be added. Of course, she needed to be my coach and I’d been assigned one when I got my program, but I switched to her (one-because I know her much better, two-because my assigned coach didn’t answer even one email)  and she added me the Thursday before it started.

I went out and bought my groceries and spent about $185 total for the whole week-that was more than I’ve ever spent on groceries-EVER. I was discouraged. Could eating clean be so expensive and hard? I prepped that first Sunday and it took me over 4 hours because I’d never prepped a meal ahead in my life. Again-discouraged.  Four Hours?? I have three kids-I can’t do that every week! (I’ll tell you how I changed that in another post)  I followed the week of meals to a capitol T.  Minus one tiny detail.  Every day included a Shakeology meal or snack and I didn’t have any-so I replaced it with my Click protein drink-it was expresso flavored-couldn’t get any better-right? (again-wrong! But I’ll get there…)

By the end of the week I had lost 6 pounds and two inches all over. I was ecstatic! I was so stoked to keep going! The whole week I had been sharing my progress, meals, how I felt-all of it and people were responding!  My cousin, now coach, was super supportive and really took the time to encourage me and I was talking to her about being a coach from the get go-but I had never committed. I never believed in a million years anyone would care about what I was doing or would believe I could do it.  My inner demons ran so deep I found it hard to fathom anyone would be interested. But how wrong I was! And after just a week of sharing on my personal Facebook page, I was starting to see how wrong I really was.

I took the plunge. After a week of being encouraged by everyone around me, I decided that I wanted to press on and be the encourager NOT the encouraged. I told my coach I was ready to join and she was like awesome! Have you considered trying Shakeology? She sent me a sample and I liked it-but not very much. My first try was the Chocolate vegan and I made exactly as directed. It was as I feared. I wasn’t won over. The one I’d been using for the longest time was so much better! I did however notice less cravings and who knew-maybe it was just the flavor. So I decided to give it a second try and buy some-but instead of on it’s own, I got it as a challenge pack.

The value was so much better! I got the 21 Day Fix Kickstart program that came with 21 Day Fix (it included everything), Shakeology, AND it came with 3 Day Refresh! I got 21 Day Fix for FREE, plus I got to sign up as a coach for FREE! My package came a week later (not even actually!) and I started drinking my Chocolate Shakeology immediately. I had already said I was going to cancel my HD because this was a one time purchase-I couldn’t see myself drinking this long term.

With it came a calendar giving thirty different recipes I could try. The first night I tried the Spiced Chocolate. It was okay-the cinnamon was a little much-but I liked it way more than the first drink I had ever had. While I still wasn’t sold, I continued to drink it daily for a week trying it different ways. Some I liked-others, not so much-but it was good. I was starting to really look forward to it each day and I had been noticing some pretty big changes. My husband was noticing too-and that made me really start thinking.

After that first week I began to really start to see a difference, feel a difference, and began to see the financial worth in it. I was not snacking-like at all. I had my usual snacks-carrots and hummus, hard boiled eggs, wraps, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt and berries-those goodies. But I wasn’t craving cookies, cakes, chips, burgers and fries… None of it. And I wasn’t eating every time I passed through the kitchen-in fact, my trips to the fridge went from 12-15 times a day to 1-2 outside of making meals. I went from drinking a protein shake then eating an hour later and over eating on junk I shouldn’t have had to simply drinking my Shakeology and eating my other snacks/meals as usual.  I also noticed that my workouts were easier to do. Not that they felt easier in the act-but I wasn’t dreading them because I was recovering faster. I wasn’t spending the next four hours feeling like a truck had run me over.

And the ENERGY! Don’t even get me started! I’m not saying I was bouncing off walls, running in circles energetic. But I did have lasting energy throughout the day. I wasn’t drinking coffee or tea anymore-those have been almost completely cut out of my diet outside of the occasional treat. I am going to bed a little earlier, but I am sleeping so much better! I haven’t gotten sleep this great since before I got pregnant with my daughter! I am more regular as far as my colon/digestive function, and I no longer have to take a myriad of vitamins or a multi-vitamin because I drink Shakeology every day. Not only that-but I was seeing results in the mirror! Here is me just three weeks after the pictures you saw above with my before picture. I can’t believe it looking at these two pictures together! This is ME!

This is where it’s real worth really started to sink in with me. I was seeing results. I felt great, was confident, I could push harder through my workouts…..But I had yet to decide that it was fully for me. I began to consider whether the cost was fair, what it came out to each day, and if it saved me money in the long run. Clean eating itself was saving me over $100 a week between groceries and eating out each week. (plus take out almost three times a week). So what exactly was Shakeology worth?

I started thinking about the money I was spending on lunch each day. It came out to between $4-$8 a day depending on what I was making or having that day. We’re talking the same amount it costs to get a meal out at your neighborhood Wendy’s or Burger King. (not that I was eating that-but for illustration sake) Shakeolgy divided by 30 to account for each day of the 30 day month comes out to $4.28 and for a 31 day month it is $4.19. That’s about the price of a grande specially brewed drink at Starbucks! (before tax) So for the price of a grande coffee at starbucks-I could have a Shakeology shake each day.

Not only that though! I was saving about $15 a week in needless  drive thru stops, $15-20 on unhealthy snacks such as chips, cookies, and frozen pizza. I am saving total, in just one week anywhere from $35 to upwards of $65 a week! Over a month of drinking shakeology, I have saved between $140- $252!! That is WITH the purchase of Shakeology.

To me, keeping my Home Direct is not only important, but imperative to me. It is more than just a meal replacement. It is all the dense nutrition my body needs to get through each day and to take care of my body on a daily basis. I absolutely LOVE it! It is the best decision I ever made! I feel great, look great,  (or at least, I think I do! 😉 ) I am healthy. My sugar levels have evened out, my vision has improved, my memory is better-and I focus better, my results with Insanity have kicked up a notch, my digestion is better, I have more energy to chase my kids around, and my cravings are gone! (mostly anyways 😉 )

To me, Shakeology is worth a lot. Many times people forget that cost does not equal worth.  In some cases that is a negative, but in this case it is a positive. In my honest opinion, it is worth much more than it costs-making it a great deal and very worth the monthly cost.

Shakeology is worth my health.

Shakeology is worth being able to push through workouts.

Shakeology is worth shorter recovery time.

Shakeology is worth being able to play with my kids. (energy)

Shakeology is worth getting a great night’s sleep.

Shakeology is worth having a healthy full meal replacement.

Shakeology is worth losing cravings and eating better.

Shakeology is worth better memory.

Shakeology is worth losing weight and building muscle better.

Shakeology is worth not taking so many vitamins each day. (it is my multivitamin)

Shakeology is worth my new found self confidence.

Shakeology is worth EVERY PENNY! For all those things and more.

You can try all the protein drinks, add amino acids, vegetables, fruits, and a multivitamin and you will never find one that works as great and is as healthy for you as Shakeology. I am not saying you have to go out an buy it today-it is still a commitment and a very personal decision. But once you do decide to purchase this amazing meal replacement, vitamin, protein drink, and recovery formula all in one, you will never want to look back.  What I am saying is, unless you try it, give it more than one try and a chance, you will never know if it is for you or not. You won’t know if it is worth every penny or if it’s way too expensive, because worth is also a very personal opinion and you have to try something to know.  I chose to give it a chance, to wait it out just a couple weeks, and I love it-I’m not going back! What will you choose to do?
